Vossablokka

Vossablokka has been developed by Hordaland Mechanical Workshop (HMV) in Voss.

Hordaland Mechanical Workshop was founded in 1952 with the starting point in AS Autoreperasjon, which started in 1935 with car repairs and petrol station. HMV became a well-known brand name as a supplier of a wide range of products in agriculture, power development, defense, suspension bridges, ropes and cable car sleeves, etc. Much of the product development for HMV concerned wire rope-based constructions and machines.

The Vossablokka was developed for serial production in the 1960s. It became known as a light and solid block with many possibilities.
Vossablokka is today a well-known brand with many uses. It is currently delivered in various sizes from single-sheave blocks with WLL 0.7 tonnes to multi-sheave blocks with WLL 22.5 tonnes.
The Vossablokka is also delivered as a specially designed block according to the customer's needs. Westcon Løfteteknikk AS took over the rights to the Vossa block in 2024, and will continue to deliver the well-known brand from Voss.
